LCD leakage analysis is a FA experiment often done by semico
nductor industry using probe station to assist engineers in identifying IC interior.
Leakage potential.
Principle: Apply a thin layer of liquid crystal on the surface of the chip and add a voltage a
bout 1.3 times of the working voltage to the chip. The liquid crystal molecule in the leakage position will feel the heat generated by the leakage and will deflect in the direction.
At this point, the user rotates the rotating button on the polarizing lens, and the flickering water marks can be seen through the microscope.
So the leakage position can be determined.
